10 Grooming Tips For Men Who Want To Impress

Grooming Tips For Men Who Want To ImpressRead on to discover the best grooming tips for men.

Many men tend to think that grooming themselves every day is not only too much effort but also unnecessary.

While both of these things aren’t remotely true, there are huge benefits to regular grooming that far outweigh the small amount of effort you need to make.

If you are new to grooming or you want to start a routine but need a few tips, here are a few of the most important things to remember.

I’m sharing this article because I’m a relationship columnist for Oprah. I love to help men find happy relationships.

If you’re presently in a relationship, or dating, you will especially appreciate these men’s grooming tips.

10 Grooming Tips For Men Who Want To Impress

1. Wash Your Face Regularly

One of the first things you should do is wash your face every morning and every night. Men tend to have much oilier skin compared to women, and men tend to sweat a lot more. This combination causes the skin to become dirty and the pores to become clogged.

A dirty face makes a subtle, but very obvious difference to your face; similar to the difference wearing a Hugo Boss cologne, and the wrong or no cologne makes; people can’t put their finger on it, but they know something is different.

2. Trim Nose, Eyebrow & Ear Hair

As men get older, nose, eyebrow, and ear hair become more of a problem. What is even more of a problem is that even if one of these hairs is out of place, it can stick out like a sore thumb.

However, it is very easy to keep them under control. There are many nose and ear hair trimmers on the market, and plucking your eyebrows or trimming them will only take a couple of minutes once a week or once every two weeks.

3. Shave or Trim Your Beard Regularly

Regular shaving and beard trimming is a must, whether you are smooth-shaven or maintain a beard. A scraggly beard isn’t a great look either; therefore, make an effort to keep it tidy.

4. Keep Your Nails Trimmed & Clean

Another thing that so many men tend to neglect is how their nails look. While there is no need to go for regular manicures, not biting your nails or picking them, as well as trimming them regularly, can make a world of difference to how they look.

5. Wear Sunscreen

One of the best and easiest things you can do to keep your skin feeling and looking healthy and young is to wear sunscreen every time you go outside. Sunscreen can help stop sun spots, keep your skin elastic, and can even prevent skin cancer completely.

6. Oral Hygiene

Oral hygiene is far more important than many people think, and bad oral hygiene can leave a lasting impression on others. First, invest in a high-quality electric toothbrush, as well as a strong toothpaste.

Mouthwash is also an option if you so choose, but more importantly, you need to floss every time you brush your teeth. Floss reaches spots your toothbrush can’t, and even the smallest bit of food stuck in your teeth can cause problems.

7. Go for Regular Facials

If you don’t have the time to look after your skin the way you should, a great alternative is to go for regular facials. Not only are they not that expensive, but most salons and spas will be able to tick every box ad give you a complete facial in an hour.

This is also a good opportunity to get your eyebrows, nose, and ear hair trimmed, as well as sort out any issues you may be having with blackheads or pimples.

8. Don’t Forget Your Feet

grooming advice for menWearing shoes all day isn’t a good enough to not look after your feet, especially when it is so easy. Firstly, trim your toenails on a regular basis, as well as push back or trim the cuticle skin, too.

If you suffer with dry feet, a great solution is to cover them with moisturizer, then a layer of Vaseline, and then put on a pair of socks. This is an ultra-effective method that will leave even the hardest and roughest heels feeling soft after a few days.

9. Don’t be Afraid to Experiment with Scents

Don’t let marketing fool you into thinking some scents aren’t for men. The majority of the time, “Summer Flowers” or “Berry Blast” scents will smell better than “Forest Hike” or whatever other scent is directed at men.

Therefore, when you are in the store, smell every scent, not just the “men’s” ones; you never know what you will discover that you may love.

10. Body Hair

Finally, manscaping is another essential part of grooming. Body hair, no matter where it is, can get out of hand and needs to be trimmed. This isn’t something you need to do regularly, but it is something to keep an eye on.

There is also nothing wrong with going for a wax if need be, as this is a quick and very effective way to clear an area of hair for an extended period of time.
