3 tips for more productive work
In this article I will share several tips and tricks to stay productive and stop feeling stressed.
1. Apps can support your productivity flow.
Every stressed out person can find something to help them relax in the app store. For example you can check out the Pomodoro tracker, habit tracker, and notepad. Those three are the holy trinity that will stand by you no matter what tasks you have to cover.
The Pomodoro Tracker
This is a timer that sets 25 minutes for work and 5 to 10 minutes for quick rest. Such tempo is very convenient for productive work flow. When you use it, you can concentrate on important and hard tasks for just enough time without feeling overwhelmed.
Habit tracker
This is a great tool for people who have been postponing certain tasks for too long. For example, let’s say you needed to start gathering information about a certain project. You can set a new habit that you need to be taking on in a week or two weeks and fulfill the parts of your project while this time goes by. You can also try to learn new things using this tracke. Or get rid of bad habits as well.
A notepad
This will help you to make sure that you are not keeping too many important tasks in your mind at once. You can download a notepad to your smartphone or your laptop and always create a new note whenever you feel like you might forget something.
2. Switch between focused and distracted thinking.
Both of those are phenomenons that represent the way a human thinks.
Focused Thinking
This type of thinking is needed to find exact solutions to certain problems.
Distracted Thinking
This is a process that goes on in your mind after you have switched to rest, sleep or other activities. Distracted thinking is needed to find solutions for the tasks that you have not face before. It help you to solve something completely new and takes a lot of the brain’s creativity resources.
The Pomodoro tracker that we discussed in the previous paragraph helps to switch and distract. But you don’t need app for this process. You can simply try to get some rest each hour or half an hour.
Remember: Focused thinking is a limited thing that cannot last long. You have to change the type of activity you’re doing if you want a powerful mindset.
3. Don’t neglect social interactions while working.
Being a hermit is nice sometimes.
But our brains and psyches desperately need people around us in order to stay productive and feel motivated.
So, if you have an opportunity to relax, consider enjoying your downtime with others. Or maybe you could take time to discuss some minor details of a project you are currently working on over coffee with someone you respect.
Being social is a big part of being mentally healthy. If you feel like you have been missing out on this lately, make sure that you are catching up now.
Social interaction also includes sharing duties and delegating them if you’re into team work right now.
For example…
Let’s say you’re a social media manager with a lot to do.
- taking over writing posts
- creating visuals
- interacting with an audience
- making sure that the audience grows over time
If you can relate to the above, then it is smart to delegate something out of that list. For example, you can buy Instagram followers or Facebook subs and concentrate on more important things that need your personal touch and experience. After all, your productivity and stable mental health are essential. As such, it’s helpful to explore support via apps and social interactions. Time tracker, habit tracker and a notepad should always accompany you no matter what you do. And you should consider delegation (like a chance to buy real Instagram followers, remember?).
The more you enjoy social interaction the more you will induce the distracted thinking process described up above. This distracted thinking will give you a new perspective on problems.
When you practice the tools above, you’ll find that you enjoy a more productive work flow. And you won’t get stuck during a challenging time. In fact, you will feel more relaxed, focused, clear and motivated.
