Given the chaos and uncertainty of the past year, it’s easy to feel as though your life needs a restart. Thankfully, there are various ways in which you can begin to start anew and begin to figure out all that life has to offer.

Your blog name will become your brand – and will be the way in which people come to know and recognize you. 

2. Work on your writing skills.

Before you begin uploading content, ensure that you take some time to improve your blog writing skills. This way, you can ensure that the content you are putting out there is of high quality, making it easier for you to gain a readership. 

3. Work on your SEO skills,

Work with an SEO provider to drive traffic to both your website and your blog. If you are not familiar with the concept, SEO refers to Search Engine Optimization. When aspiring authors are first starting out, they are encouraged to read as many books as possible. Reading helps an author to better understand and develop their craft.

It also helps you to learn a little more about the kind of language you should use. Plus, how you should format your content.

While this can be a little hard to get to grips with, it’s easy once you learn the marketing rules for each social media platform as you can use them to your own advantage. Ensure that you regularly share the links to your blog online. Plus, later on you must take time to assess your metrics to see how many people actually followed the links. This will let you know whether or not your efforts are working, or whether you need to take on a different approach. 

7. Network with other bloggers

Connect with other bloggers who write content that is similar to your own. Not only is this a great way to make new friends and build professional connections, but it can also help you extend your readership. For example, you can achieve this by sharing each other’s content, leaving recommendations or even guest blogging on each other’s pages. 

8. Create a newsletter

In order to ensure that your readers continue to come back to your site and read your content, you need to develop a strong relationship with them. This, in many ways, is similar to the relationship that a business owner would share with their customers. As such, you should find as many ways as possible to connect with them. For example, you could send out weekly newsletters to keep them up to date with what is happening on the blog, respond to their comments and queries or even simply reply to any messages they send your way. You could also set up a series of blog posts where they can ask you for specific advice!
