Of all the relationships we have in our lives, the one we have with ourselves is arguably the most important.

With so many responsibilities, reasons to be stressed, crises to overcome, it can be easy to put yourself on the back burner.

While this is essential for some moments in time, even admirable, be careful as it can also be a slippery slope.

If you are feeling like you have lost yourself, or maybe that you want to reinvent certain parts of yourself, consider these suggestions for ways to become the best version of yourself and get back on track as early as today.

1. Present Yourself Well

best version of youPutting yourself together each day does not have to mean a red-carpet effort on a Tuesday. Rather, making the effort to feel good about yourself, whatever the means for you, each and every day.

Even if you decide to spend the whole day in your robe, you can still accomplish this by investing in a robe that has some style to it and making sure to take good care of it.

Spending time snuggled up in a robe that looks, smells, and feels nice as opposed to the $30 one you have had since college is going to have a direct influence in your mindset and emotional acceptance of having this relaxing day.

Another sneaky way to accomplish this without having to completely wear yourself out, is by investing in quality beauty products.

For example…

The proper skin care can make you feel confident in happy in a makeup free face, while ignoring the need to moisturize might leave you feeling like you have to compensate with full glam. The same can be said for your hair care routine each day. You can purchase hair care products online to nourish and revitalize all hair types with all natural shampoos, conditioners, and hair treatments. Good quality products mean that your hair will be healthy and beautiful to aid in your quest to present yourself well.

2. Have Positive Self Talk

positive self talkIf all you do is tell yourself that you can’t, eventually that will be your truth. While there is nothing wrong with creating goals and challenging yourself to grow and change, be sure that you are being kind to yourself in the process.

If your life needs a restart don’t fool yourself into believing that it is impossible, or to late, neither is true.

If you want to become the best version of yourself it is critical that you advocate for yourself and be your own biggest cheerleader.

Support networks are excellent compliments to your strategy so lean on your friends and family as needed but keep in mind that at the end of the day, you hold the key to your own destiny.

3. Identify Triggers

Whether it is your career, a personal relationship, or even the place in which you live, identifying what is triggering your unhappiness is necessary.

This does not mean that you have to throw your hands in the air and make massive changes.

Instead it means thinking about what change is needed to make these things go from triggers to positive elements of your life.

If you are unhappy at work, do not just up and quit your job. Instead think about why you are unhappy.

For example: Is it the work itself, the company, the coworkers?

The answers to these questions will lead you down the path to being your best.
