5 Modern Stressors That Hurt Your Health And Happiness

modern stressors hurt health happiness

There are many modern stressors which can be bad for your health and happiness. Yep, unfortunately our world is filled with a range of ways to stress you out.

These anxious feelings can impact your work, social life, and even your physical well being.

With all this in mind, it’s essential for you to find ways to overcome your anxiety.

I’m a bestselling author of a meditational guide called Instant Calm – and founder ground breaking relaxation training called The Anxiety Cure. And here to help you out!

5 Modern Stressors That Hurt Your Health And Happiness

1. Technology

technology stressIt’s natural to feel a little stressed when you’re using digital devices – especially when you need to learn new and complicated technology.

One of the best ways to overcome stress around technology is to take things slowly. Stay open to learning a little something new each day.

Your new mantra:

“I’ll learn this technology 10 minutes at a time, I’ll learn this technology 10 minutes at a time, I’ll learn this technology 10 minutes at a time.”

I personally love using YouTube to learn about complicated things – because I can literally see everything done – step by step.

Sometimes I ask my 20-something babysitter Michael to help me with new technology – because he’s grown up around technology and thereby feels more confident with new tech. (He helped me set up my Apple Watch! Thanks, Michael!)

But if you don’t have access to a 20-something, and you’re not into Youtube, you can simply search around for online guides to read – like this guide about new technology.

If you’re an entrepreneur – and you’re feeling stressed about all the new online tech you need to know – I offer 1-on-1 business consulting.

I can teach you – in private sessions by phone or Skype – everything you need to know about how to master social media, design attention getting quote posters, produce successful online email campaigns, etc..

Basically, I’d love to help you to feel like a master at today’s online marketing technology!

2. Addictions of All Kinds

addictions stressMany people have an addiction of some kind.

Some of these addictions include:

  • processed foods
  • sugar
  • alcohol
  • caffeine
  • drugs
  • toxic relationships
  • cigarettes
  • shopping
  • social media

When you aren’t able to satisfy the addiction which is controlling your life, stress and overwhelm will be just around the corner.

I personally an a recovered sufferer of food addiction. I was trying to use food to escape uncomfortable feelings – instead of using food as the healthy nourishment and fuel it is meant to be. Thankfully I bravely faced my food addiction head one – and stopped this bad habit for good! You can read more about my story and grab my tools for recovery from emotional eating here.

Whatever your addiction might be, it’s essential you face yours head on – so it doesn’t create stress and chaos in your life.

Take a moment right now to get honest with yourself. Are you snared by addiction?  If so, it’s time to take action to put in the effort to break your addictive vice.

3. Work Overload and Burnout

modern stressors work overload overwhelm

Throughout history, people have had to work extremely hard to earn an income. This work stress can have a huge impact on both physical health and mental health.

When you’re working too much  – and you endure extremely long hours – you can create extreme stress in your life.

Remember: It’s generally accepted that working 8 hours, relaxing for 8 hours, and sleep for 8 hours is the best routine to maintain a healthy mind.

Of course, you may be able to work more hour than this. But if you do, you might want to take breaks to meditate.

You can learn helpful 2 minute relaxation meditations – in a guide I wrote here.

Let’s not forget the modern perceptions of stress too. Stress is a constant for so many. While it’s seen as an alternative therapy, CBD oil has been shown as a supplement to help anybody de-stress, whatever their role in life.

If you’re a working mother and need a woman’s opinion on CBD or if you’re in any job feeling the pressures of work, the right supplement could be invaluable.

4. Financial Stress
