How to Remain Deeply In Love With Your Spouse in Your 40s

How to Remain Deeply In Love With Your Spouse in Your 40sWhile there are many couples who have never had a bad day with each other, even a fulfilling marriage isn’t spared from conflicts and a sudden reduction of intimacy. You may feel this when you enter your 40s together and experience a noticeable downturn in the way you bond with each other.

However, entering your 40s doesn’t mean you have to set intimacy aside. It only causes you to keep building each other up as you look forward to what this next phase has in store. Here are a few tips you and your partner can consider.

1. Have Deeper Conversations

Keep in mind that the person you’re sharing a bed with may have a lot to say about politics, health, lifestyle, and all other topics. Over time, it gets more boring as you start your morning greeting each other and nothing else. Rather than allow your conversations to revolve around mundane details, consider initiating talks about deeper topics

You can reminisce about your past travels or think about the goals you haven’t reached as a couple. You may end up listing down new activities you might want to try out before or when you’ve retired. There’s still so much you can talk about beyond what’s happening on the news, so aim for genuine interactions whenever you have conversations.

2. Spice Things Up in Bed

When it comes down to intimacy, you still have sufficient energy to try out new things in bed. Even if both of you have reached the peak of your careers and are spending less time with each other, you still have to treat lovemaking as an essential part of your marriage. It’s good for your health, especially as you enter your 40s. The workout you get does more than boost your vitality; it also improves your emotional resilience.

You just have to explore even more exciting ways to satisfy each other. You can try out breast augmentation or a permanent male enlargement surgery to improve performance. You should also be adventurous in trying out roleplaying and other kinks that will get you thirsty for more. Creating sexual tension by sending each other provocative messages is also worth trying.

3. Make Travel a Priority

You can never go wrong with traveling as a way to draw you closer towards each other. Staying in an unfamiliar place by yourselves allows for greater opportunities to work as a team, especially if your focus is on deciding where to eat, who to meet, and what landmarks to visit. If you haven’t travelled for a long time, you might as well spend your next anniversary celebration at an underrated and exotic destination such as Belize and Zanzibar.

4. Take On Challenges as a Team

You can’t deny that any relationship that has entered the ten-year mark will eventually reach a breaking point. Past mistakes get brought up, and there’s always plenty of room for arguments, even over the pettiest things.

However, no marriage is perfect, and you may encounter rifts, but what remains is your concern for each other. If you face a major hurdle in your marriage, never back out. Face it together as a couple and, at the end of it, you will develop a deeper appreciation for the other.
