Change isn’t easy for everyone but it’s necessary for personal development. If you find change hard, you may have trouble making decisions that are healthy for you.
There are many opportunities in life to make positive changes that will impact your future.
If you’re on the brink of change, you may be in two minds as to whether to go through with it. I’m sharing this article because I’m a bestselling author on behavioral change and founder of the therapist recommended course Tweak A Week.
4 Healthy Changes
Take a look at these healthy changes for inspiration.
Your Relationship
It can be very difficult to walk away from a relationship that isn’t healthy for you. It’s easy to get used to the same person being in your life and walking away can feel like leaving a limb behind. However, if the relationship has become toxic or you aren’t getting what you need anymore, making that change could be the best thing you ever do.
Similarly, it can be hard to get into a new relationship when you’ve been hurt in the past. You may have reservations or fears that stop you from giving it a go. If you wait too long to make the change, the chance could pass you by.
Your Job
Making any kind of change with your job can be nerve wracking. The fact that you’re financially dependent on your job can make the thought of changes even riskier. However, if your job offers no job satisfaction it can leave you feeling miserable.
Many people these days have at least three different careers in their lifetimes. Making a change could be the healthiest choice for you. You even have the option of traveling at the same time. There are companies all over the world offering internships for the right people. Ever fancied interning in Tokyo? Now is your chance!
Moving Home
Do you dream about a life in the countryside where you can get fresh air every day and grow your own vegetables? Perhaps the idea of a busy city is more appealing. Bustling with life and vibrancy all hours of the day.
This can be a daunting change to make but there’s no time like the present. Taking a risk and moving to a new place can result in you feeling much healthier and having far more freedom to do what you wish.
Mend Family Rifts
There are many situations that can lead to family rifts throughout the course of a lifetime. No matter what the reasons for falling out with a family member, it can play on your mind. Feelings of guilt, missing spending time with your loved one, feeling neglected, or a range of other emotions can cause havoc on your mental health.
Reaching out to someone you haven’t spoken to for a while or someone who hurt you is difficult. However, the benefits of mending that relationship will far outweigh the fears you have right now.
Making big changes can be terrifying but it’s often these big changes that can shape our lives for the better. If you’ve enjoyed reading this article, take a look at the rest.
