3 Best Ways To Burn Calories at Home

best ways to burn calories at homeWithout a gym, losing weight might feel unattainable. With these best ways to burn calories at home, though, you can take your fitness into your own hands.

Losing weight isn’t easy. And you might feel limited if you don’t have access to a gym or fitness classes.

Even when you’re at home, though, you can exercise and lead a more active lifestyle in order to meet your personal goals.

As you might know, I wrote a bestselling book called Happy Habits.

Inside my book I share a range of habits which boost happiness. And exercise is one of my research-backed and highly recommended happy habits.

3 Best Ways To Burn Calories at Home

In this article I will give you a short list of the best ways to burn calories at home – so you maintain your healthiest weight.

1. Stand and Walk More

It’s likely that you spend a good portion of the day sitting while you work or watching the computer or television. When you’re looking to utilize more energy, you can make a slight alteration to this and stand instead. Get a standing desk and try standing while you enjoy your favorite shows. You’ll expend some more calories this way. To go along with standing, you could also try to walk more, both indoors and outdoors. Pedometer apps are great for measuring how many steps you take each day and setting targets for yourself.

2. Lift Some Weights

Lifting weights might not be a cardiovascular exercise as most of the other activities on this list, but it can still help you burn calories. This is because having more lean muscle causes your body to naturally use up more calories than it would otherwise. You can get a couple dumbbells (they don’t need to be bodybuilder-heavy) and do controlled movements with them to work on your muscles. Arms curls, lunges, and dumbbell raises are all examples of things that you can do.

3. Do HIIT Workouts

High-intensity interval training is among one of the absolute best ways to burn calories at home. With this style of working out, you keep your body moving through all kinds of exercises while keeping up a quick pace. You spend fixed amounts of time moving and resting, preventing you from staying inert for too long. As a result, you’re able to keep your heart rate up and lose weight effectively with HIIT. The great thing about HIIT is that it doesn’t require weights or machines, nor much space. There are plenty of videos online that can get you started as well. If you want to make your own routine, you can also get your own timer for fitness training to structure your exercise sessions without the direct use of videos.
