5 Tips To Sell Yourself Speedily and Memorably

Here is some of Laura’s magic formula...
1. Upfront say your full name and tagline. For example, “I am Susie Cohen, the ebay queen,” Or... "I'm Batman, the world's greatest superhero."
2. Explain in another sentence the inner workings of your work. If you simply tell someone you’re a project manager, they might glaze over because they don’t know what that means. You must follow up your tagline with some specifics about your skillsets and/or product. For example, Batman would explain how he saves the world from evil with his super skillsets in martial arts, escape artistry, mastery of disguise -- plus the help of his amped up Batmobile and his feisty co-partner Robin.
3. Explain why you’re the best at your work. Give one example people can grab on to. For example, Batman might mention that wacky time Penguin and partners stole a priceless jewel, but before Batman could catch them in the act, a vulture pounced on him. Undeterred, Batman found the jewel in Penguin’s basement – only to be knocked out by sleeping gas. But because he’s the world’s greatest super hero, Batman ultimately escaped with jewel in bat-gloved hand -- and likewise he can help you fight against any evil you need to fight against!
4. Use your authentic voice to describe yourself. Fancy or huge words don’t sell better, but worst.
5. Create a call to action. What do you want people to do? If possible cap it with a special freebie trial of your service/product... or a time limit to call you about something -- so it motivates people to strike while the iron is hot.
